About Us
My name is Jake Jarz. I am a soil science lab technician located in San Diego, CA. I am a lifelong biophile with a passionate interest in soil ecology and regenerative practices. In 2023 I learned techniques in microscopy through the Certified Lab Technician Program of Dr. Elaine Ingham's Soil Food Web School. I use microscopy to assess soil samples and determine the biomass of microbes essential to the Soil Food Web. It is my goal to help regenerative farmers and growers learn what is living in their soil so they may take steps towards growing healthy and resilient plants. It is also my goal to share stories from the microbial universe and inspire our communities to support regenerative practices.
